As already mentioned in the May & June 2023 research topic, the technical adaptation of the bell ball is one of our development goals. The University of Vienna worked together with two HTL school classes to equip a bell ball with appropriate sensors and various information transmitters so that the ball still emits acoustic signals even when it is stationary. LED strips attached to the ball should also be able to make the ball stand out from the background and change colour depending on the speed of the ball. The volume and colour of the ball can also be individually controlled via a specially developed, barrier-free mobile phone app.
The research question that now arises: Which throwing games could be played with this adapted bell ball?
