UNIKATE Ideas Competition

The UNIKATE prize honours ideas for new technological developments that enable people with disabilities to have more self-determination, equal participation in society and thus live together as equals – inclusion in the sense of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The prize is aimed at pupils and students with creative ideas and a technical background who want to develop an inclusive technology – an UNIKAT – together with a person with disabilities.

In this year’s ideas competition, more than half of the 11 submissions came from the “Smart Sport Assistance” project. Five projects from the submissions will be honoured with prize money of 2000 euros + 1000 euros in material costs and project support from experts at TU Wien.
